There are countless times where it can be helpful to look for answers, to explore thoughts, feelings, actions and possible options. Whatever the focus, coaching helps individuals gain the clarity, understanding and perspective that assists in making, managing and sustaining change. Helping to identify and sort the pieces of life's puzzles, coaching can be the catalyst that makes things happen.
A supportive, guided process, coaching enlightens and empowers, providing access to proven strategies, insights and tools - all with an unwavering commitment to personal growth. Working with a trusted ally assists individuals to explore their potential, overcome challenge and achieve desired outcomes, generating positive results for adults and children alike.
“Coaching works because it’s all about you. When you connect with what you really want and why – and take action – magical things can happen.”
Emma-Louise Elsey, Life Coach
One of the biggest advantages of hiring a consultant is gaining access to their expertise. With a wealth of experience working with schools, educators, pupils and parents, I am able to provide valuable insights, recommendations and schemes of work that will assist with the development of people, procedures and provisions involved with, or responsible for, wellbeing.
People are any organisations greatest asset, in whom investment pays dividends. With extensive experience in areas that affect and enhance the ability to perform, personally, professionally and academically, I work collaboratively with organisations to build and support a culture of wellbeing that enables individuals and whole school communities to flourish.
A strong base of knowledge helps the brain function more smoothly and effectively - with the power of knowledge we become smarter, able to solve problems in given areas more easily. It is well recognised that improved levels of awareness and skills increases confidence and motivation to engage, therefore investment in training and skill building is fundamental to the success of individuals and educational settings as a whole.
There are a myriad of topics that are linked to mental health and wellbeing, so whilst experts in teaching, educators often welcome the opportunity to gain knowledge and support in these areas. With the ever brightening spotlight on wellbeing, and the rise in mental health issues in young people, providing training to those responsible for young people creates confidence and the ability to engage, respond and act.
Having a good level of mental health is a key part of feeling happy with life, being connected to others and having a sense of meaning. For young and old alike, mental health and wellbeing are intrinsically linked - it is never too early or too late to learn about the risk and protective factors for mental health and how to actively monitor and respond.
Learning about the cognitive triangle, exploring the power of thoughts, feelings and actions and how to manage them helps support autonomy. Whether in the workplace or at home, being able to engage in activities and behaviours that support positive mental health, and in turn wellbeing, is priceless. Modelling these skills to others often has a ripple effect, enabling them to benefit too.
“It’s important to point out that mental health is more about wellness rather than sickness.”
– Matt Purcell
Like physical health, mental health can fluctuate. I offer Mental Health First Aid England training courses that assist with the recognition of early signs of mental health challenges.
Undertaking training provides skills to help prevent decline and promote recovery and boosts ability and confidence to offer intervention and support that can improve outcomes and save lives.
